What it means to be a BIE Member

When you join Building Industry Employers of New York State, you join a collaborative group of fellow New York State Builders Exchange members and Construction Industry Executives and Workers all working together in the promotion of beneficial legislation and regulation.

As a state-wide not for profit construction industry association, Building Industry Employers of New York State (“BIE”) is a strong advocate for construction contractors, project owners and the construction industry in general, while at the same time protecting the interest of New York State taxpayers.  Much of the advocacy work is done behind the scenes, collaborating with regional association executives whose associations belong to BIE, along with other industry executives from similar state-wide associations.

Supporting & Improving the Construction Industry

BIE supports local associations which provide construction project content to an electronic plan room system utilized by associations and employers across New York.  Assisting those associations in the gathering and dissemination of projects in the planning and bidding stages remains an important role as such a service is a valuable benefit to thousands of New York State contractors, suppliers, and manufacturers’ representatives.

Although the e-plan room system offered by regional associations is very popular among industry employers, Lovell Safety Management’s Safety Group 469 workers compensation program continues to be utilized by over 1,000 contractors throughout New York.  Click here to learn more about this unique workers compensation affinity program offered exclusively to BIE.

Since 1895 BIE has played an integral role in the construction industry via the unique relationship it provides regional associations and their executives.  Adapting to changing times and delivering valuable services to those regional associations by providing a forum for executives to deliberate over important industry matters is the mission of today’s BIE.
